1. Who we are
KinPacto ("we", "us", "our") is a co-parenting coordination platform developed and operated as an independent application. KinPacto is available on the Google Play Store for Android devices.

2. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to all users of the KinPacto mobile application, including:
- Co-parents — separated or divorced parents who use KinPacto to coordinate parenting responsibilities.
- Professionals — lawyers, mediators, and social workers who receive shared reports via the InstaShare feature.
Important: KinPacto is intended for adults (18 years and older). We collect information about children on behalf of their parents or legal guardians — we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has independently created an account, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
3. What data we collect and why
Account and profile information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), and profile photo (optional). This is used to identify you within the app and to your co-parent.
Information about your children
You may enter detailed information about your children to help coordinate parenting. This includes:
- Name, date of birth, blood type, and known allergies
- Medical conditions, medications, and doctor contact details
- School name, grade, teachers, and school-related documents
- Clothing, shoe, and hat sizes
- Emergency contacts
- Profile photos
This information is shared between both connected co-parents. It is never used for advertising or shared with any third party without your explicit action.
Pet information
You may optionally record pet details including name, species, breed, and veterinary contact information. Pet records and associated documents are shared between co-parents.
Calendar events
We store calendar events you create, including custody schedules, school events, medical appointments, and general family events. Events are shared with your connected co-parent.
Expense records
We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Expense records you add (such as receipts or reimbursement details) are stored to support co-parenting coordination and reporting.
Messages, journals, and documents
We store messages, journal entries, and uploaded documents you create within the app so you and your co-parent can maintain shared records and export reports.
GPS check-ins (optional)
If enabled, we store GPS check-ins to confirm child handoffs or location-based events. You can disable this feature at any time in the app.
4. How we use your information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the KinPacto app and its features.
- Enable coordination between connected co-parents and professionals you choose to share with.
- Generate court-ready exports and reports at your request.
- Communicate essential service updates or security notices.
6. Data security
We use encryption and secure infrastructure to protect your data in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to data is limited to authorized personnel and systems required to run the app.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can export or delete your data at any time from within the app. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your data unless we must retain it for legal reasons.

9. International processing
KinPacto is operated from South Africa. Data may be processed in South Africa or in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. We apply appropriate safeguards to protect your information wherever it is processed.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app.
